Retirement Plan Distributions
You may make a charitable rollover gift by instructing your plan administrator to directly transfer a gift to Squam Lakes Conservation Society.
Benefits of Donating With Your IRA
Donating to Squam Lakes Conservation Society directly from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) is both convenient and a tax-wise way to support the mission of protecting the Squam watershed. If you are 70½ years of age or older you can transfer directly from your IRA to the Squam Lakes Conservation Society without realizing any taxable income. For those age 72 and older, this charitable transfer can also satisfy your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).
How to Initiate a Gift with Your IRA
A letter of instruction with sample language is available here. Please always consult your financial advisor to determine how donating through your retirement fund applies to your specific situation.
Notify SLCS of Your Generous Gift
IRA gifts received by Squam Lakes Conservation Society may arrive without your name and contact information. Please notify SLCS of your gift:
Leaving a Legacy
You can name SLCS as a full or partial beneficiary of your IRA, 401K, or other qualified retirement plans through a beneficiary designation form. Enduring assets will not be included in your taxable estate.
